Hi, I'm Chay and I am the proud owner of my self-titled (I know ... how modest!) barbershop, Chay's Barber Shop. I have over 5 years of barbering experience, and love nothing more than to show off all the skills I've picked up during that time. From the first time I wielded a pair of clippers, I dreamed of owning my own shop. So, now this dream has been realised, I can't wait to welcome you all in for a trim and a chat. I also love all things retro, and I certainly allowed myself to indulge in this theme heavily when it came to the decor and vibe of the shop ... So, if you haven't had chance to visit our barbers just yet, you will soon see what I mean!

I’m David. With over 25 years experience in the hair industry ( I guess I could be classed as Vintage/Retro), I began my career at Toni and Guy in London. With close connection to artists in the music industry I became a personal stylist to an international dance music performer which took my career to Los Angeles . I worked on music videos, stage shows, live tours and fashion photography for over 6 years, also establishing myself as an abstract painter based in LA’s downtown Art District. I returned to the Uk in 2016, specialising in men’s hair/barbering and now proud to be part of Chay’s venture at his new barber shop bringing a bit of my worldly gained skills to Plymouth’s barbering scene.
